Coastal Students Cultural Forum has conducted Ocean literacy campaign for the National Service Scheme Volunteers from the Government Higher Secondary School, Vithura. Students have visited Perumathura- Muthalappozhi breakwater and made observations on how an unscientific construction on the coast destroying natural breaches and the livelihood of the community surrounded by this. After the construction alone, the community had lost the lives of about 49 traditional fishermen. The students also visited the traditional fishing Village –Anchuthengu and had a discussion with traditional fisher folks about their indigenous marine knowledge and livelihood practices. CSCF Ocean literacy team Volunteer Vipin Das headed the campaign with the students from the NSS.
